La circulation de manuscrits syriaques en Orient et entre Orient et Occident entre la fin du xve et le xvie siècle

This article is devoted to the production and circulation of Syriac manuscripts, especially grammatical manuscripts, in the East and between East and West in the first part of the Ottoman period (fifteenth-fifteenth century), in relation to the various Syriac communities (Syrian Orthodox, Eastern Syriac Church, Maronites). Through the exchange of texts and copyists, it attempts at reconstructing the relations between these communities and the evolution of their linguistic and literary interests. Special attention is devoted to the reconstruction of the personal library of the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch Jean Bar Shayullah (15th cent.), its composition and its transfer to the West in the 16th century.
Cet article est consacré à la production et à la circulation de manuscrits syriaques, notamment de manuscrits grammaticaux, en Orient et entre Orient et occident dans la première partie de la période Ottomane (xve-xvie siècle), par rapport aux différentes communautés syriaques (Syro-orthodoxes, Eglise syriaque de l'lEst, Maronites). A travers l'échange de textes et de copistes, il essaie de retracer les relations entre ces communautés et l'évolution de leurs intérêts linguistiques et littéraires. Une attention spéciale y est consacrée à la reconstruction de la bibliothèque personnelle du patriarche Syro-orthodoxe Jean Bar Shayullah (xve siècle), à sa composition et à son transfert en Occident au xvie siècle.
