Résumé
This paper aims to provide an overview of the correspondence that Franco Fortini exchanged with Hans Magnus Enzensberger between 1961 and 1968. Much more than a series of technical notes on translating poetry, from their letters emerges a rich analysis of the political, economic and cultural situation the two authors are experiencing as European intellectuals during the Sixties. Particular focus has been placed on the role played by Bertolt Brecht in bringing Fortini and Enzensberger closer together as well as in distancing them from one another.
