L’interculturel comme horizon pour l’éducation
Résumé
The intercultural horizon is a newcomer in the educational landscape of the Republic of Ireland. Its integration into the other horizons of the education system, namely the denominational and the national horizons, raises the question of the compatibility of these different horizons. Our analysis focuses on primary education and is based on a multiple-case study carried out in four Irish denominational primary schools the purpose of which is to see to what extent the practice observed is compatible with the new intercultural horizon, particularly as regards two of its dimensions, i.e. the celebration of diversity and anti-racism.
L’interculturel comme horizon est arrivé récemment dans le paysage éducatif de la République d’Irlande. Son intégration aux autres horizons du système éducatif, à savoir les horizons confessionnel et national, invite à s’interroger sur la compatibilité de ces différents horizons. Notre analyse se concentre sur le premier degré et nous nous appuyons sur une étude de cas multiple conduite dans quatre groupes scolaires primaires confessionnels irlandais afin de voir dans quelle mesure la pratique obervée est compatible avec le nouvel horizon interculturel dans deux de ses dimensions notamment, la valorisation de la diversité et l’antiracisme.
