Space weather, from the sun to the earth, the key role of GNSS, part I: Space weather and its effects

Abstract : This paper presents a study made for the Seminar on Space Weather and its effects on GNSS held in conjunction with United Nations/Nepal workshop on the applications of GNSS held in Kathmandu, 6 to 12 December 2016. The Seminar focused on cross-cutting area, in particular resiliency, the ability to depend on space systems and the ability to respond to the impact of events such as adverse space weather.
